This project saw the renovation and extension of the heritage-listed St Benedict’s Parish Church, delivering a carefully considered upgrade that respected its history while creating a revitalised, unified place of worship. A key element of the works was the addition of a new entry and foyer with a luminous glazed roof, designed to welcome parishioners and visitors into a space filled with natural light and a sense of arrival.
Within the chapel, finely crafted timber-framed windows and new timber flooring were installed, enriching the interior with warmth and material integrity while complementing the church’s traditional character. Circular skylights were introduced as a feature design element, filtering soft, fragmented light into the space to evoke calm, reflection, and renewal. The works culminate in a striking bespoke metal artwork behind the altar—a cluster of bronze butterflies—symbolising resurrection and transformation. Together, these elements weave functionality, heritage, and spiritual symbolism into a harmonious whole.
