Gemcan, in collaboration with Crosier Scott Architects, delivered a comprehensive transformation of an existing building into a vibrant new Learning Centre at Holy Family Primary School. The project reimagined the interior, creating flexible, modern learning environments tailored to students’ needs.
The redevelopment features new classrooms, breakout areas, specialist spaces including a tech hub and quiet room, a resource and library zone, and a presentation area with tiered seating. A mezzanine level adds additional functional space, enhanced with custom joinery and glazed balustrades.
Externally, the building received new Colorbond steel roofs, polycarbonate Danpalon panels, and feature Alucobond fins, complemented by landscaped areas with exposed aggregate paving, recycled garden beds, and raised timber decking.
Design priorities included natural light, ventilation, and acoustics, with louvred windows, hearing augmentation systems, and high-performance insulation. Internally, impact-resistant plasterboard, acoustic ceilings, bespoke joinery, integrated storage, energy-efficient lighting, and upgraded mechanical and data services ensure a safe, sustainable, and high-performing learning environment for the future.
