The DS Aitken Reserve Pavilion project was a major redevelopment to modernise and enhance the community sports facility. Driven by the needs of local sporting clubs and the broader community, the project delivered a revitalised pavilion that aligned with AFL guidelines while creating an inclusive, accessible, and sustainable environment.

The redevelopment included the refurbishment of existing change rooms, amenities, and social areas, along with the reconfiguration of the kitchen to incorporate a kiosk with both internal and external serveries. Upgrades also featured a new administration office, trainer’s room, improved toilet facilities meeting DDA compliance, and an external covered viewing area to enhance spectator experience.

Designed with community benefit at the forefront, the project considered neighbouring residential amenity, universal design principles, and environmentally sustainable outcomes, ensuring a secure, low-maintenance facility that will serve as a welcoming hub for sport and recreation.
